MI DIY Outdoors and what it means to us. The MI stands for the state of Michigan. That is our home state where we enjoy most of our outdoor adventures. DIY means just that, putting in the work and preparation ourselves to ensure each adventure is full of enjoyment. Outdoors is where we do it. Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Boating, Hiking, we do it all in the great outdoors.

Our Story
Tony Wieber, Founder of MI DIY Outdoors, launched a YouTube channel in 2020. It began as a simple hobby. His goals were to capture and share his experiences through video and photography, and share them with a like-minded community. With a family of 5 with three kids, and working two jobs, Tony understands how small time can get, to enjoy the outdoors. Through MI DIY Outdoors, Tony’s mission is provide entertaining content, while also providing gear reviews and helpful videos, giving a leg-up to the working family members who want to participate in quality time in the outdoors. One major part of our story and mission is to introduce kids to the outdoors, and pass on what we have learned to the next generation!
Meet the MDO Crew!
Cody Nixon
Cody Nixon is an avid outdoorsman, with over 20 years of experience enjoying the outdoors. From big game hunting, small game hunting, fishing, and boating, he partakes in everything the outdoors has to offer. Cody enjoys anything DIY, from building his own deer blinds, to trying new techniques for scouting, fishing, hunting, and ground blind placements. When Cody is not enjoying the outdoors he is spending time with his wife and two children and going to the family cabin in northern Michigan. He is passing on knowledge and passion for the outdoors by taking his children fishing, hunting, and teaching them to appreciate nature.
John Plesko
Hi, I am John Plesko, and I am an avid MI DIY Outdoorsman. From spring morels and walleye runs, summer salmon and cisco’s, fall deer hunting, and winter steelhead and ice fishing, there is never a dull season in this wonderful State! Growing up as a third generation MI woodsman, I was fortunate enough to inherit a plethora of knowledge and respect for our natural resources. With years of experience and plenty of lessons learned, my goal is to share this passion with others, especially our youth, and to continue great traditions which bring so many of us meaning and happiness.
Wade Norman
Hey my name Wade Norman I am 34 years old, an avid outdoorsman and hunter. I enjoy all things outdoor , with hound hunting , and whitetail deer hunting at the top of the list ! By trade I work in the water well drilling industry and am 5th generation in the family to do so . I have one daughter that I enjoy doing all things outdoors with, as she enjoys them all as well. We love to spend time working on the family farm to improve our deer hunting habitat from food plots to improving bedding areas.
Emmitt Young
Hi, I’m Emmitt Young, I spend my spare time outdoors with my wife and 2-year-old son. As a family; we enjoy fishing, hiking, camping, and kayaking. I’ve been hunting small game and birds for over 20 years. I spend a lot of my alone time in a tree stand bow hunting, walking the woods scouting, and enjoying the quiet that comes along with the outdoors lifestyle.
